The COVID-19 pandemic continues to cause significant challenges for everyone.
Please know that each of the staff at Exeter Pediatric Dentistry are committed to providing you and your children with a safe and positive dental experience. As we continue to navigate our way through this, we ask for your patience and understanding. Hopefully the day will soon be here where this is behind us and we can all return to a more normal way of life. In the meantime though...
We continue to ask parents to call us at 603-778-0400 when you arrive in the parking lot. When we're ready to seat you, we will call you and then meet you at the front door to screen you for admission to the office.
Our screening questions apply to both the child we are seeing and anyone in the home(s) where the child lives. If you answer yes to any of these questions, we will need to reschedule your appointment.
We have multiple staff members who are pregnant as well as many patients with compromised immune systems. For everyone's safety, take these screenings seriously and stay home if you answer yes to any of the questions or are not sure. And remember, COVID-19 is most contagious in it's early stages.
- Has anyone in the home been diagnosed with COVID-19 or been asked to quarantine in the past two weeks?
- Has anyone in the home had flu like symptoms, a temperature or the loss of taste or smell in the past two weeks?
- Have you traveled out of New England in the past two weeks OR had visitors from out of state who were in your home in the past two weeks?
As we noted before, these are part of the enhanced infection control protocols we have put in place that were designed by the American Dental Association and the CDC. Please be aware these changes are in addition to our existing rigorous infection control policies that have been used in the office for years. Some of the things being done include:
Staff Monitoring: All doctors, staff and patients are being screed daily for symptoms or potential exposure to COVID-19.
Temperatures: All patients, parents and staff will have their temperatures taken before entering the office. No one will be allowed entry into the office if they have a fever.
Masks: We are requiring all parents and patients who enter our office to have a mask or face covering. We will provide one for you if necessary. In addition, all of our staff members will be wearing masks at all times.
Please note we have obtained the necessary PPE for all our staff including N95 and face shields.
Reduced Traffic: We have increased appointment times so there are fewer patients seen in a day and less patients in the office at one time. This temporarily has extended the wait time to be seen for certain procedures.
Reception: We are requesting patients wait in their car until called.
We then ask that only one parent accompany small children to their visit.
Disinfection: We have also implemented an office wide surface decontamination routine that occurs every 30-60 minutes.
And More: Even more is going on behind the scenes. Please ask us if you have questions, and remember we are all in this together.
Please know we are here for you both now and throughout this pandemic. With five caring and well trained pediatric dentists on staff, we can usually address any issue in short order. We look forward to seeing you and your children soon and if you have any questions, please just give us a call.
